Who are Focus awards?
We’re an Awarding Organisation (sometimes called an Awarding Body) regulated by Ofqual on behalf of the UK government, CEA in Northern Ireland and Qualifications Wales. Will I receive a regulated qualification?
Yes, upon completion of a course that is advertised as a qualification, you will receive a recognized qualification that you can verify on the Ofqual register.
What support materials do you provide?
We provide you with a knowledge base through our online theory module which you can access on your mobile or desktop through your member account. These modules include reading materials outlining the main aims and objectives of each unit. Interactive multiple choice questions and quizzes are embedded into our online modules to evidence your understanding.
A remote 1 hour lesson is delivered weekly for our theory lessons to work alongside your online modules and other leaners.
If you require a paperbased copy of the learning materials , this is available on request from yout tutor.
Do I need a workplace or real classroom for the Level 3 AET?
The Level 3 award requires you to deliver a lesson in a realistic learning environment, this could be your workplace or classroom You must have real learners with you and adequate space and resources to ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to. This can be a pre recorded lesson that you will submit for assessment as part of your assignment evidence.
Do I need a workplace or real classroom to deliver my lesson for the Level 4?
The Level 4 Certificate in education and training requires you to deliver 3 observed lessons in a realistic learning environment, such as your workplace or classroom. You must have real learners with you and adequate space and resources to ensure all health and safety regulations are adhered to. You will need to plan, prepare, and deliver a 1 hour lesson where you will be observed by one of the APS assessment team. You will be rquired to document 30 hours of teaching practice to complete this qualification.
What happens if I fail an assessment?
If you fail an assessment, don't worry. You will be assigned a personal tutor who will support and guide you through your course. If you need to add something extra, your tutor will provide feedback, and you can resubmit as many times as necessary.
